Unchecked property taxes are forcing senior citizens on fixed incomes, hardworking families, and small business owners out of their homes and properties. For too long, state and local governments have relied on soaring appraisals as a backdoor tax hike, using hardworking Kansans as a blank check.
True property tax reform means capping runaway valuations, putting strict spending limits on local taxing entities, and executing a clear, responsible roadmap toward property tax elimination.
At the same time, we must protect taxpayers from corporate exploitation. Whenever state or municipal government grants tax abatements, subsidies, or economic incentives to corporations, those deals must include enforceable clawback provisions. If a corporation fails to meet its promised job creation, capital investment, or wage benchmarks, the contract must trigger an automatic, full return of taxpayer dollars. We will no longer allow big corporations to secure property tax carve-outs on the backs of local homeowners while walking away from their promises. Our tax system should reward living, working families—not corporate handouts.

For too long, state-sanctioned utility monopolies have treated Kansas families and businesses like guaranteed revenue sources, driving up energy costs while blocking true market innovation. Breaking up these energy cartels starts with holding utility regulators accountable, opening our grid to competitive power generation, and introducing real market-based choices. By auditing utility rate hikes, ending corporate rate subsidies, and expanding reliable, next-generation clean power—including advanced nuclear energy—we can create high-paying technical jobs, lower monthly electric bills, and deliver true energy independence for our community.

Automated license plate readers like Flock cameras treat every law-abiding driver like a suspect by logging, tracking, and storing the daily movements of innocent citizens without a warrant. Beyond the fundamental Fourth Amendment concerns regarding mass surveillance, these systems create significant liability through recurring subscription fees, unauthorized inter-agency data sharing, and a proven track record of abuse where sensitive location data can be accessed without proper oversight. Rather than outsourcing community safety to private third-party tech vendors that profit off tracking our roads, public resources are far better directed toward transparent, proven local law enforcement efforts that protect constitutional rights while maintaining real public trust.
Every single dollar that enters our state treasury comes from the hard work of our taxpayers. And you deserve to know exactly where it goes. As your representative, I am calling for a full, comprehensive audit of our state finances. No exceptions, no hidden line items. We need to account for every dollar coming in, track every dollar going out, and scrutinize exactly how it’s being spent. It’s time to end frivolous spending and ensure that your money is treated with the respect it deserves.

Holding Businesses Accountable in Their Agreements:
When a company makes an agreement that gives them land for free or reduced price and or gets tax breaks for the promise of things like guaranted employment levels they must be held to that or lose the benefits.
Investing in Clean Nuclear Energy: Champion modern, safe nuclear power as a cornerstone of our state's green energy future to ensure a reliable and emission-free power grid.
